A few HDR’s from Romania

With a little delay, here are some HDR photos from Romania. All of them I took in Poiana Brasov which is famous as ski resort in the winter. The vertical oriented HDR pictures are made from a single RAW file and the horizontal ones created from 3 RAW files.
Elad: Regarding your comment from my last post – first of all thanks! and second of all, the questions are excellent and I will give a detailed answer in my next post.
Walk in the Park

My wife, Miri, is studying for her last exam of her bachelor’s degree to be held this Thursday. Today, since she was studying all day i took a little walk with my gear in Park Hayarkon (1 minute walk from our home). Park Hayarkon is Tel-Aviv biggest and most active park. I walked and shot photos from around 16:00 to 19:00. Here are a few pictures from today -

Street Photography in Romania

I decided to split my post about Romania into 2 or 3 separate posts. In this post ill share some of the street photography style shots I took during my week there. To the trip, I took my D300, Sigma 10-20, Nikkor 18-200 VR and Nikkor 35mm f2.0.
My wife was born in Romania and we came to the country mostly for bureaucracy reasons, therefore we spent quite alot of time on the streets of Bucharest, walking from one office to the next. One thing that my wife mentioned there is that the Romanian people always seem so preoccupied with the difficulties of life, and that they almost never smile. At first I did not notice it but after looking in some of the pictures i took, I understood what she was talking about…

Nikkor 35mm F2.0 – one of my favorites, and i still wonder if he is the one who broke that bench…
Don’t get me wrong, it’s not a gloomy place at all! Most people are kind and willing to help and the atmosphere is good. Here are a few pictures I took in Piazza Sfatului in Brasov of a happy little kid chasing after the street pigeons

The following two images are favorites of mine for sure. The first one I was lucky to capture since the only thing that drew my attention to look in that direction was the laughter of the street cleaning lady which I assume, was triggered by the purple colored hair lady in the back. I do miss a little depth of field but I had no time to deal with camera settings, so I am pleased with result. The second image I took from other side of the street, and I think it’s a great scene but to enjoy it the most it should be viewed or printed at a large size.

I’ll finish this post with a street portrait of my wife that I like very much. I thought about cropping it a bit at first but I left it as shot since for me it give the photo a more of a “walk in the park” feel.
