One year after – Tierra del Fuego, Ushuaia

It has been more than a year since our trip to Argentina and Chile and I did not post pictures as of yet just because I just had too many photos! Well, it’s never too late and I decided to start posting some photos and I will do it based on different location we visited during our trip. I decided to start with Ushuaia which is one of “the southernmost cities” of the world. An amazing city and one of the few points where you can start a cruise trip to Antarctica (not a cheap cruise though…)

Weekend at the North!

Hi All! A couple of weeks ago Miri and I had the chance to take a short weekend vacation to the north of Israel. We started the trip at a Romanian restaurant in Haifa called “The Beer Spring” and the food was very good, especially the appetizers! Sitting in the restaurant I saw the fellow below and he really captured my attention…

After the restaurant we went to see a movie (Sherlok Holmes) and right after we drove to our Tzimmer (B&B) in Maale Gamla. We were lucky and the weather was great! The next day, I woke up and started investigating our garden which had plenty of flowers, bees and butterflies and luckily I had my Sigma 70mm macro with me…

Before heading back home on Saturday, we stopped by the Hula Valley to see some birds… but we saw a lot! :)

We came at an excellent time when they feed the birds and we were right in the middle of tens of thousands while they ate!

Till next time!

Too many photos!

Hi All! Its been awhile! We (me and my wife Miri) had a great time in our vacation in Argentina & Chile. Even though we returned in the end of March, I did not write any posts until now for mainly 2 reasons. First of all, i got a new position at work which took a couple of bites from my spare time. Second of all, I took too many photos! I returned from the trip with thousands of photos and as of yet, I did not have the time to sit and post process them. Hopefully I will get to it soon enough but I assume it will take a while and perhaps I should give up on waiting for me to have the time to post process all of them and just focus on the best and share them with you.

Luckily I have friends who love photography as well and keep me updated with interesting stuff related to photography. A good friend of mine, Nathan, sent me a link to the following HDR tutorial from a famous travel photography blog named Stuck in Custom. Nathan asked me to give it a go and share my experience, so I did. Most of the images below are made from a single RAW file and were made by following the guidelines and using the tools mentioned in the tutorial. I included both the before and after. It’s a lot of fun! I suggest you try it!

All of the images below are from our trip. I went a bit too far with the HDR effect but that was the style I was looking for. It can be easily done in a much more subtle way!
